MEL – Minimum Equipment List
The MEL (Minimum Equipment List) course will familiarize candidates with the formatting, referencing, accessing, interpreting, use of, and regulations pertaining to an Aircraft MEL (Minimum Equipment List).
MPP (Maintenance Planning Principles)
The Maintenance Planning Principles Training Program is designed for those required to perform maintenance planning and scheduling tasks. The course covers Aircraft Maintenance Legislation and guidelines for maintenance planning, record keeping, maintenance logs, tracking, and inventory controls.
AMM (Aviation Maintenance Management)
Navigating the Aircraft Technical and General subject matter without guidance and expert knowledge has proved to be difficult for those in the process of successfully completing their commercial pilot license. This course explains this subject matter in an easy-to-understand format.
WHMP – Wildlife Hazard Management Plan (CAP 9137)
This Aerodrome Wildlife Hazard Management training program was developed for aerodrome operators and personnel since birds and wildlife are a serious hazard. Outlining what should be done to address this hazard and implement a successful WHMP is developed in accordance with ICAO Doc 9137 – Airport Services manual – Part 3 – 5th Edition 2020.
SMS Initial (Safety Management System)
Safety Management remains at the forefront on how organisations can make aviation travel safer. The objective of this course is to equip the new Safety Officers with skills required to manage the safety system within an airline or air operation, and this course is developed in alignment with the IATA Safety Management System Guidelines.
SMS Recurrency (Safety Management System)
This SMS Recurrency (Safety Management Systems) course is designed to ensure safety officers and Safety Managers remain current on the latest Safety Management System Concepts.
SMS Introduction (Safety Management System)
The Safety Management System – Introductory course provides airline and airport personnel with an understanding of an SMS system. For SMS personnel to be successful, all staff need to support the policies and procedures implemented by the Safety Committee. This introductory course provides sufficient information to provide that support.
QA (Quality Assurance)
In aviation, Quality Assurance is key. All activities are required by the regulatory authorities to be adequately managed and controlled through a well-developed and implemented quality assurance program, including, principles of Quality Assurance, preparation and implementation of a quality manual/system and quality assurance documentation, and ensuring all QA procedures are in place and complied with.
Revenue and Yield Management in Aviation
Revenue and Yield Management is for all in the admin/ finance department of an aviation company, featuring aviation yield management history, business benefits, price and demand economics, methods, forecasting, fencing, origin and destination, market sensing, systems, revenue preservation, management, and measurement as well as human factors.
RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
This course aims to show how Root Cause Analysis is an effective tool for finding the true or actual cause of events, facilitating effective corrective action and preventing their recurrence.
COMAV (Commercial Aviation Management)
Commercial Aviation Management training covers the main principles and techniques involved in managing the commercial functions in an aviation operation.
Delegates will be competent to perform the regular duties within the commercial department of an operation and recommend or evaluate possible improvements to a company’s strategy, practices, and procedures.
ERP – Emergency Response Planning
The ERP – Emergency Response Plan program provides personnel with the required knowledge, procedures, and policies for handling an Emergency. Responding requires a coordinated effort between all personnel, emergency response committees, task and reaction groups, and specialists. The survival of an air operation after such an event depends greatly on handling an Emergency correctly.
Lead Auditing
The Lead Auditing course offers comprehensive information covering every aspect of the auditing process, including the planning stage, inspections, reports, follow-ups, findings, and management of an Audit Team, including how to compile check lists, how to monitor and supervise audit personnel involved in the process, the actual laws covering this function and enforcement of all.
HEAT – Hostile Environment Awareness Training
The Hostile Environment Awareness Training course covers possible scenarios in hostile environments and how to deal with them. Planning and preparing for an emergency evacuation, dealing with hostage situations, what to expect in ‘hotspots,’ and what to look for in danger zones are some of the topics covered in our HEAT training course.
Human Trafficking Prevention
This course provides insight, knowledge and guidelines for flight crew and ground crew in the fight against the rising danger of Human Trafficking in air transport and is aligned with the IATA Guidelines on Human Trafficking in Aviation.
CATS & CARS Familiarization
CATS & CARS Familiarization assists in understanding the legislative structure, design, documentation, amendments, and communication, highlighting the connectivity between the Civil Aviation Technical Standards (CATS) and Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs), focussing on PART 91 / PART 121 / PART 135 and PART 127.
FOA (Fundamentals of Aviation)
Fundamental of Aviation gives insight into the industry and is ideal as an induction program, providing an understanding of many aspects of aviation, increasing the knowledge of aircraft, airspaces, airports, flight rules, and every aspect of an air operation or airport facility.
FRMS – Fatigue Risk Management System
Fatigue plays a significant role in aircraft incidents. This course covers topics on personal strategies, understanding consequences, and contributing factors to fatigue, as well as the potential of poor shift systems design, and reporting protocols. It outlines symptoms of fatigue including shift systems design, reporting protocols, and symptoms for managing your fatigue.

A Just Culture is a culture that highlights how operators are not punished for actions, omissions, or decisions taken by them, commensurate with their experience and training, but in which gross negligence, wilful violations and destructive acts are not tolerated.

Communicable Disease Awareness Training
The communicable Diseases training program is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the best practices and procedures in the event of an outbreak, epidemic, or pandemic.
Including COVID-19 and 12 other communicable diseases such as Malaria, Ebola, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, Monkey Pox, and improving general health practices to prevent, or reduce the impact, of outbreaks.
OHSMAN – Occupational Health and Safety Management (SA)
OHSMAN (Occupational Health & Safety Management) program provides learners with the knowledge to apply HSE principles to design, implement and maintain quality management programs related to HSE. The use of cell phones during training is frowned upon (discouraged). If you are ‘on call’, please put your phone on ‘silent’ on your desk and leave the room to take the call. Courses held at Cranfield are all interactive and your instructor will encourage participation, where appropriate. We provide a light lunch between courses which is included in the price, is not compulsory and you are welcome to bring your own if you have dietary challenges (preferences). We have delegates from all over our continent with different beliefs, dress codes, and everyone is very welcome.
