Outlining what should be done to address this hazard and implement a successful WHMP is developed in accordance with ICAO Doc 9137 – Airport Services manual – Part 3 – 5th Edition 2020.
LVO – Low Visibility Operations
The Low Visibility Operation (LVO) course details all subject matter applicable to operators when experiencing poor visibility situations. These include ATC duties during a CAT III Approach, Airborne ILS Equipment, Ground Equipment Required for the ILS, Flying the CAT III Approach and Low Visibility take-off to name a few.

The use of cell phones during training is frowned upon (discouraged). If you are ‘on call’, please put your phone on ‘silent’ on your desk and leave the room to take the call. Courses held at Cranfield are all interactive and your instructor will encourage participation, where appropriate. We provide a light lunch between courses which is included in the price, is not compulsory and you are welcome to bring your own if you have dietary challenges (preferences).
